Joe’s Barbecue Brings Smokehouse Legends Home to Brimfield
Taste CLE · January 22, 2026

Joe’s Barbecue opens a bricks-and-mortar spot in Brimfield Township after years dominating the BBQ scene with killer brisket, ribs, and more.
After years of dominating Northeast Ohio’s barbecue scene from a humble trailer, Joe’s Barbecue is finally firing up a permanent home in Brimfield Township. Get your appetite ready, because this smokehouse legend is opening doors as early as next week.
From Gravel Lot to BBQ Destination
Owner Joe Menendez got things cooking in 2017 with just a simple smoker, a pop-up tent, and big smoky dreams. Word spread fast about that bold brisket and those ribs so smoky they might haunt you. One 1,000-gallon wood-fired smoker turned into a bona fide local obsession, with folks lining up wherever the aromatic trailer landed.
The New Brick-and-Mortar Experience
Years of perfecting his low-and-slow craft (and plenty of brisket-induced daydreams) have led to the ultimate flex: Joe's first-ever restaurant right on his home turf. The new Joe’s Barbecue spot is all about leveling-up the classics and making space for BBQ fans old and new.
Here’s what’s waiting:
- A second 1,000-gallon offset smoker for even more smoky goodness
- A wood-fired rotisserie smoker cranking out ribs, chicken, and the soon-to-be-legendary brisket burgers
- Indoor and outdoor seating (table service indoors rolling out once things settle in)
- Space for about 80 guests in full swing
Expanded Menu, Classic Joe’s Flavor
Sure, you’ll find those epic brisket plates and pulled pork sandwiches. But the new digs mean a decked-out menu of sides and sweets, too:
- Smoked mac and cheese that could teach your grandma a thing or two
- Buttermilk bacon potato salad
- Charro beans
- Oreo pudding
- Bourbon banana pudding
Weekends just got better: Pastrami specials drop every Saturday (look out, they're primed to be a new tradition).
When to Get Your BBQ Fix
For now, Joe’s Barbecue opens Fridays through Sundays, serving fresh until the day’s supply sells out. That’s right: if you snooze, you risk missing out on that slow-cooked magic. As the pace picks up, expect days and hours to expand.
Joe’s crew already has a crowd of loyal regulars from their trailer and food truck days—these folks know what’s up when it comes to brisket.
Brimfield’s New BBQ Beacon
This isn’t just another restaurant. It’s a homegrown smokehouse graduation party—one with bold flavors, heart, and a killer pit-to-plate experience. Whether you’re a local or just BBQ-curious, get in line early (and bring your appetite).
Stay tuned as Joe’s Barbecue redefines the region’s barbecue landscape, one low-and-slow masterpiece at a time.
