Bomba Tacos & Rum – Now Open in Beachwood

Bomba Tacos and Rum is finally open in Beachwood and it seems everyone wants to try it out. We stopped in today to taste the tacos and some of their specialty drinks. And we even got into some rum flights. Located in La Place at the corner of Richmond and Cedar Roads. Free covered parking is available right next to BOMBA Beachwood! Snag a great parking spot by turning down the side access road directly to the left of BOMBA. There is a patio right up front and a fire pit for those cool evenings. Once you get inside, you’ll see the main dining area off to the right and the bar area to the left. Their staff was more than friendly and everyone had smiles.

The place was packed when we got there around 4:15pm but it should be. They have a pretty great happy hour menu complete with $2.50 tacos, $5 cocktails and $3 beers. We went a little bit of a different route. If you really want to eat some tacos, you can do a 10 pack for $35 and it’s absolutely worth it. Our choices were the Wild Mushroom, Poke Tuna, Blackened Fish, Jamaican Jerk, Crispy Shrimp and Spicy Shrimp. The Tuna Poke and Wild Mushroom were amazing. The Blackened Fish and Crispy Shrimp were really good too. The others were solid but there were some standouts. All in all, the food was great and we were very pleased and full.

The drink list is another adventure in itself. You can pick a variety of mojitos, margaritas or sangrias. There are also specialty cocktails, rum flights, craft beer and wine. We did a little bit of everything. Started out with some cocktails including the Rum Punch ($10) and Lavender Bee’s Knees ($9). Both were really good. Great drinks for a summer day. Then while we ordered some mojitos ($7.50) like the peach basil, cucumber lime and pomegranate ginger, we asked for one of the Spanish Rum Flights ($9) The truth is IT WAS ALL GOOD. The drinks and mojitos were spot on. That peach basil blew us away. And the rum flights are really fun. You get to learn all about rum and why it taste the way it does. Bomba even has a Rum 101 section on their website so you can learn even more.

All in all this was a great experience and our first time at one of the Bomba locations and there is no doubt we will be back. Can’t wait to try some of the other drinks, items besides the tacos and dive into some more rum flights.
